Frog’s Eye View
I was surprised to see the reflection of the late summer sky, including the outline of the tree lineĀ in this frog’s eye. Look closely and you can even see the sun gleaming in the lower right corner of the pupil.

Late Bloomer
Just when I thought the zinnias were all pretty much done and exhausted in our area, I discovered this stand, a last holdout of late bloomers, in a local park.

My GBH buddy after he landed on the boardwalk. I gave him a perfect “10” but the Russian judge deducted a tenth of a point for a slight wobble.
Flight #02-Niner Cleared For Landing
Great Blue Heron unexpectedly swoops in for a landing only feet in front of me during a stroll down a boardwalk nature walk. What was truly remarkable is that I was completely alone, not another soul in sight. I am quite certain the bird had to have seen me but decided he’d land anyway. Thanks, Mr. Heron!
Ruby
I have enjoyed the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds so very much this year. Here I was fortunate to have a very brave one visiting this black and blue salvia (the bugs were just a bonus)
