The Capture!
My Red-Shouldered friend captures his prey, a little chipmunk. Sorry, Chippy!
Red-Shouldered Wonder!
Encountered this gorgeous Red-shouldered Hawk as I was driving a country backroad. I was very fortunate when he allowed me to spend 20 minutes or so observing from close range, even witnessing a hunt 6-8 feet from my car. Great encounter for me!
Leave it to Beaver!
Surprised to encounter this beaver in late January. Normally they would be deep in the dens hibernating this time of year here in Ohio. Crazy winter!
Downy Does It Best
Little Downy Woodpecker, a constant here year-round in Ohio and always an entertaining little bird to watch…
Creeper? I don’t think so!
Brown Creeper captured at take-off. “Creeper” is such a goofy name for such a quick, darting little bird. They are quite difficult to capture
Mr. Cardinal
Always love the Cardinals!
Strike A Pose!
White-crowned Sparrow strikes a supermodel pose and shows off that wonderful crown.
Quietly Endure…
I had the rare treat of encountering not one but two foxes this week while on a nature walk. As you can see, this beautiful creature had been injured in the right eye. No doubt a struggle against prey, or perhaps foe. It reminded me of a quote from a personal hero, Martin Luther King, Jr, only days away from our National holiday that celebrates his life and lesson…

Deep Undercover
Until my cover was blown! Beautiful white tail buck peers out over the deep cover.
