Birth of a Dahlia
A yellow Dahlia comes into bloom.
American Beauty!
Painted Lady butterfly. They have been quite prominent this year! Check out that curled proboscis.
Subtle Fall Colors
The showy little American Goldfinch loses his bright yellow colors for these more subdued shades in autumn. Gold gives way to these blended colors of peach accents. As the year progresses they will turn more olive. Beautiful little guys!
Little Darlin’
Chickadees are one of my favorite tiny birds. They stay here in Ohio year-round and are loaded with personality. Always one of the bravest birds too.
Cooper’s Hawk Fly-by
This Cooper’s Hawk flew right past me on the trail. Check out the big bulge in his neck. Must have just taken a big meal — it’s clearly there in his gullet.
Dahlia at Dusk
Loved the soft, natural lighting just before sunset
