Taken this past weekend at Dawe’s Arboretum. Who can tell me what kind of butterfly this guy is? Like many butterflies, he has a very different pattern on the interior of the wings (more colorful) than the exterior side. But I just love the pattern on the outside part of the wing.
Most of the butterflies have now been gone for several weeks here in this part of Ohio. This beautiful monarch decided to visit us at the Dawe’s Arboretum – at the Red Barn Trail.

These butterflies were TINY! They kind of looked like the Ewoks of the butterfly world. Tiny but cute. Anyone know what this species is called?
Thought he was beautiful, especially against the vivid pink of the zinias. Inniswood Metro Park, Labor Day, 2013.
