Beautiful Autumn Butterfly
Taken this past weekend at Dawe’s Arboretum. Who can tell me what kind of butterfly this guy is? Like many butterflies, he has a very different pattern on the interior of the wings (more colorful) than the exterior side. But I just love the pattern on the outside part of the wing.
Monarch on First Day of Autumn
Most of the butterflies have now been gone for several weeks here in this part of Ohio. This beautiful monarch decided to visit us at the Dawe’s Arboretum – at the Red Barn Trail.

These butterflies were TINY! They kind of looked like the Ewoks of the butterfly world. Tiny but cute. Anyone know what this species is called?

Twice As Nice!
These two were fascinating to watch. They followed each other the entire time. When one flew on to another flower, the other immediately followed. They never separated, Inniswood Metro Park on Labor Day, 2013.
