Colors, Raging Colors!

This is the Common Darner Dragonfly, captured just after metamorphosis, resting on some lily pads. The discarded exoskeleton shell from his prior life as a nymph was located on the next lily pad over. Notice that his eye goggles are still a strange opaque. I believe he is still undergoing part of the metamorphosis and his compound eyes are still not visible. The colors were another unexpected surprise…
