Sometimes it’s the smallest, most unassuming little creature that can be so frustrating to shoot. For me, the Dark-eyed Junko is just such a bird. I have tried every winter for several years to get a shot that does this pretty (but very shy and skittish) little bird justice. Finally, I was pretty pleased with this one. Such soft little feathers and beautiful black eyes on top of the slate-dark feathers, along with the contrasting bright white ones!
